Anyone think the lad alfred ndiaye who plays for betis on loan from sunderland could be a shout?
Very much the player in the mould of big vic whom I think we have missed dearly in the cl this season, alfred is a senagalese international, 6ft 2 strong and only 24 who plays defensive mid.
this boy ticks all the places and i'm hearing sunderland will be willing to sell him for 2m which is right in our range.
real betis likely to get relegated and I think the idea of cl football would be appealing to him, doubt very much celtic would go for him but

thoughts?

Wouldn't mind a player in the mould of Vic, almost like a centre half playing infront of the back four. His brother McDonald on a free from Inter? Or on the subject of Sunderland, Diakite has impressed on loan at Fiorentina. Bring him in and push Efe into midfield? Anything to get him out of central defence! I'd bring Derdyck Boyata in on a free too to replace Mouyokolo. See what he has to offer and again, maybe push Efe into CDM.

Agree0 Disagree0

There are some quality players available on a free this summer, a good few would make a massive difference to squad

I am hoping to take my son to a St Pauli game next season and would be grateful for any information regarding travel, hotels and tickets.
Cheers

{Ed007's Note - It's shooty-in mate, I've been over a a few times over the years. You can fly from Glasgow to Hamburg, I've always stayed with friends but there are plenty of hotels in the area and the public transport is very reliable, even going about in taxis isn't too expensive. Depending on your son's age the Reeperbahn is a great night out for a laugh with the lads. You can buy tickets for matches off the club's website.}

Is that a wee peek into your life ED, up the Reeper? You naughty boy! Got to agree though it is fun if a bit weird! the trannies scare me if i'm honest!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - One of them certainly scared and shocked one of my cousins!}

@ED: I was going to ask for more info but I think we might leave it mate!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Probably for the best lol.}

Ah the reeperbahn, the thing that amazed me most, was the families with young kids walking through it, as if hey it's no big deal, I mind my mother used to go make tea when someone kissed on the tv.

Just read an article on mcculloch stating he never touched Kayal. Anyway typed in: lee mcculloch is a p**** on google and came across a quote from his book(didnt know he had a book)about how he challenged Paul Hartley to a fight on the pitch. Who does this clown think he is? I can't stand the ratbag and believe he needs brought down a peg or two, ., .kbarry

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Kbarry think he was taken down by more than a peg or two on Sunday. Read in the paper today.he said that that was worse than Rangers going down, typical of the man, he never gave a thought to the people who lost money because they went down
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

They didn't go down Tam they went bust.

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree with you Marky but it was him that said they went down, not me mate
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

On Sunday I was at the Allianz Arena to watch TSV 1860 Munich play Karlsruhe in Bundesliga 2. A fantastic stadium indeed and there were only about 10,000 there in total. The stadium looked empty but the noise from both sets of fans was incredible. Drums and singing for 90 minutes non stop. Many clubs supporters could take a leaf from their book in my opinion.

Heard on some of the presenters saying it was good that Atletico knocked out Barcelona.
Not in this tim's eyes, I still remember the horror game years ago (for younger Celtic fans just google Celtic-Atletico Madrid 1974)
This lot had an Argentine manager and several Argentine players who when they played at Celtic Park their only thought was to hack down any Celtic player on the ball, wee Jinky took a terrible beating being scythed down at every turn, but his bravery was such he just picked himself up and ran at them again, an incredibly brave performance from the wee man.
They had 3 players sent off on the night and almost the whole team booked, sadly game finished 0-0. The most incredible thing about all this was in the second leg they BLAMED wee Jinky for everything, even giving him death threats.
NO I do not want this team anywhere near the Champions League trophy.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Anyone that beats Barcelona gets a huge thumbs up from me Timbo. But kudos on holding a grudge for 40 years, that's what I like to see.}

Me too .Never forgive

ED007 anyone who was at that game will bear witness to the thuggery that team resorted to, our fans were angry of course, but I was proud of the way they supported the team that night without resorting to violence which could very well have happened.
A weak UEFA barely punished Atletico issuing them with a paltry fine, they should have been kicked out of Europe for years to come.
Yes I hold a grudge, never forget never forgive.
I can honestly say if Celtic ever resorted to those kind of tactics to win a game I would not be a Celtic supporter anymore.
INTEGRITY/FAIRNESS must come first.

Agree0 Disagree0

For what it's worth Tim
I don't personally agree with holding grudges but if I was going to do it then it would be against the person or people who wronged me. Anything else would be like holding a grudge against your next door neighbour because the people who lived there 40 years ago were a**holes.
Just my opinion and I accept that you are entitled to yours too. I do admire your perseverance though!

Hail Hail

Agree0 Disagree0

Tim I was there too mate but you can't blame the sin's of the father on the son's mate, they are a good team to watch
Tambhoy

And don't get me started on Rapid V.sad eh!

As a bit of a break from the ongoing Griffiths Inquiry would anyone fancy Felix Magath as our next manager?

I've got a rare day off work and while watching TV I thought why not?

He's a well known disciplinarian and has plenty of experience in management. Right away the normal boundaries between management and the playing squad would be instilled, boundaries that seem to be smudged between NL and the squad.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Dose he not have a very bad record with youth though?.

Agree0 Disagree0

How do you know Felix McGrath will be capable and available in seven years time after we have won ten in a row with Neil Lennon

Agree0 Disagree0

I will be surprised if lennon is in charge next season, never mind 10 in a row. There has been whispers for a good while now about norwich and imo I think a deals already been done

Agree0 Disagree0

Neil Lennon won't become manager of Norwich, his domestic and European success are unlikely to be achieved elsewhere .

Having a rare "me" day at home (Mrs T and girls all out) watching BT Sport first game Monaco-Nantes, empty stadium, no atmosphere and boring game.
What a difference next game Flamengo-Leon in the Copa Libertores, 100,000 in Maracana great atmosphere and end to end football.
Got me thinking (I know dangerous) but what is the best stadium you have visited for atmosphere and what is the worst.(not Celtic Park)
Mine are best atmosphere the old Roker Park Sunderland.
Worst has to be the old Brighton stadium, the Withdean, terraces too far from park.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Worst - Hampden

marquez

Agree0 Disagree0

Best atmosphere definitely westfalstadion last season for dortmund game, by far the worst again hampden run down an terrible atmosphere.

It's good to get a relaxing day to yourself Tim, I am enjoying the peace and quiet while my credit card takes a hammering in random ladies clothes shops in Glasgow.

But it's worth it!

I was lucky enough to attend the Istanbul derby between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe at the Ali Sami Yen Stadium before it was demolished.

I've been at matches all over Europe but that atmosphere makes the hair on my neck stand up just thinking about it now. If anyone ever gets the chance to go I would highly recommend it.

The worst stadium in my opinion is the old Brockville, I was in my early teens and it was one of my first away games so I think it has just stuck in my head.

I still get a chill down my spine when I drive past the Morrisons that's built where it used to be.

Agree0 Disagree0

There might be another supermarket built on an old stadium soon .

Has anyone heard anything about the future of Griffiths? Celtic seem to be very quiet.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Nothing can be done until after the SFA hearing on the 24th of this month. Remember he hasn't been found guilty of anything yet.}

Celtic signed Derek Riordan in 2006 after he had been found guilty of singing the exact same song, whilst he was at Hibs, the previous year?
Is that right?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes but the Scottish Football Association were not happy with Riordan getting off so they changed the rules . Rules are now more Hearts and The Rangers friendly .
